2023 Mazda MX 5 0-60, Release Date, Price

2023 Mazda MX 5 0-60, Release Date, PriceIn an industry in flux, the 2023 Mazda MX 5 0-60 is the ideal safe bet for drivers looking for something familiar. This two-door, two-seat cabriolet sticks to its guns and provides a fun, low-cost way to get behind the wheel and have a good time. For one simple reason: Mazda doesn’t need to constantly update the Miata’s technology.

For the 2023 model year, Mazda introduced new colors and a driver-assist system called Kinematic Posture Control, which uses rear-wheel braking to improve on-road feel. In my opinion, despite Mazda’s claim that KPC is designed to lessen body roll, I still feel it. Although this is a good thing, When spirited driving, cars that eliminate every last bit of movement give the impression that they are simply too powerful for most roads and drivers.

Because of the way the Miata’s body rolls and pitches as the driver brakes better communicate the car’s limits and makes those limits feel more accessible at speeds that won’t result in a ticket. Even though this Grand Touring model lacks the Club’s optional Brembo brakes, it will nonetheless come to a safe halt in seconds.

2023 Mazda MX 5 Redesign

Exterior Design

A revised front grille form and angular LED headlights are mentioned in the article, but without making the 2023 Mazda MX 5 0-60 look too aggressive. The interior of the little sports car is expected to have more upscale materials, a digital instrument cluster, and more up-to-date controls in line with other current Mazda models.

A black convertible top with a glass window, LED headlights and taillights, proximity entry, black-painted mirrors, power locks and windows, cloth seats, a leather-wrapped tilt and telescoping steering wheel and shift knob and parking brake lever, and a mesh wind blocker are all standard features on the base Miata trim.

Interior Design

The 2023 Mazda MX 5 0-60 is a two-seater, so the Mazda team had to develop unique solutions to accommodate a wide range of body types. Compared to the Toyota, the Miata is 13 inches shorter, 1.25 inches narrower, and 2.5 inches lower at 154.1 inches. With 52.2 inches of shoulder room and 37.5 inches of headroom (1.4 and 0.4 inches less, respectively, than the GR 86), it doesn’t mean that it’s overly cramped inside.

Cargo space in the Miata is limited to 4.59 cubic feet due to the vehicle’s small proportions. With automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert standard on all 2023 Miatas and lane departure warning available for Grand Touring trim levels, the Grand Touring Miata will be the most technologically advanced yet.

Seven-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto HD Radio Bluetooth aux, USB inputs six speakers in the headrests of the driver’s seat headrests are all standard features of the Sport model. New for 2023 is wireless Apple CarPlay that may be used with a Bose sound system and SiriusXM satellite radio. The Grand Touring model comes standard with navigation, which can be had for $400.

The MX-5’s in-car technology, like that of every other Mazda, is abysmal. The Mazda Connect infotainment system takes a long time to start up and respond. To get around Mazda’s terrible telematic system, I use standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

However, the touchscreen is disabled while driving (although the rotary knob does a fine job swapping the display from Google Maps to Spotify and back again). It would be wonderful to have a quicker USB-C charging solution for rapid juice-ups, given wireless smartphone mirroring is already present. Trip meters, estimated distance to empty, and a few more valuable tidbits can be seen on a little display in the gauge cluster.

2023 Mazda MX 5 Engine

Mazda claims that the 2.0-lt SkyActiv-X engine offers up to 30% more torque than the 2.0-lt SkyActiv-G engine, which is already used in the Mazda3 and CX-3 vehicles. Additionally, it uses 30 percent less fuel than the previous model. Whether the 2.0-lt engine replaces the 1.5-lt one in the upcoming MX-5 remains to be seen. To keep the roadster’s weight under control, the 2023 Mazda MX 5 0-60 isn’t ready to release a full hybrid or plug-in hybrid MX-5. A larger and/or heavier battery would be required for a hybrid or plug-in hybrid model.

The combination of that down-to-earth attitude to handling and an engine that produces precisely the appropriate amount of power results in a car that never seems underwhelmed. Despite its 181 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque, the Miata’s naturally aspirated 2.0-lt inline-4 engine will never be able to go faster. Although I’ll have to work a little harder to get enough power for a pass, the engine tone is lovely at higher revs, and the six-speed manual transmission allows me more opportunities to exploit it.

2023 Mazda MX 5 The Cost and the Date of Publication

Despite all the new components and revisions, the 2023 Mazda MX 5 0-60 is still the cheapest convertible in the United States, with $27,300 for the MX-5 Sport. There are three Miata models available: the Miata Club ($30,800), the Miata Grand Touring ($32,800), and the Miata Club with Brembo BBS Recaro ($35,300).
